Thank You, Hazzan Lubin, for 27 Years of Faithful and Constructive Service
In September, Hazzan Abraham Lubin announced his retirement from the JRB Board of Trustees. His tenure began in 1997. He served on the Executive Committee as both 2nd Vice Chair and Treasurer. During much of his tenure, he participated on the Audit Committee and Budget Committee. He also contributed to the work of the Communications and Investment Review Committees.
“Abe’s tenure on the Board corresponded with significant growth in the JRB,” commented Board Chair Rabbi Felipe Goodman. “He focused his resonant voice on extending benefits to professional and support staff as well as clergy. We know he has more songs in him and we look forward to hearing them.”
Hazzan Lubin was a former president of the Cantors Assembly and represented the Assembly on the JRB Board.
JRB CEO Mitchell J. Smilowitz, CPA remembered how “Hazzan Lubin actively participated in Board discussions, asking pertinent questions and offering valuable insights on a wide range of issues. He always promoted the JRB to his Hazzanim colleagues and advocated for Cantors on the JRB Board. His presence will be missed.”
