Dana Sharon Winer, USCJ Vice-President, stepped down from the JRB Board of Trustees after her term expired. Ms. Winer chaired the JRB Communications Committee where she performed a critical role in promoting the JRB presence at the 2023 Conservative|Masorti Shabbaton & Convening. She also played an important role on the Budget and Finance Committees.
“Dana was a major influence in integrating the work of the JRB with USCJ activities,” noted JRB CEO Mitchell J. Smilowitz, CPA. “She focused on educating synagogue leaders that all synagogue staff – administrators, educators and support staff – are eligible to participate in the JRB Retirement Plan. This has allowed the JRB to deepen its coordination with the USCJ and increase Plan participation among non-clergy employees working in the Movement.”
JRB Board Chair Rabbi Michael B. Greenbaum, Ed.D., added “Dana brought great energy and a fresh perspective to the Board. She actively promoted the JRB as a benefit of USCJ membership. We’ll miss her enthusiasm and constructive ideas.”
